Join Us In Welcoming A Hero
This Sunday, we are privileged to welcome Retired 1st Lt. Clebe McClary. A retired Marine, he is a decorated veteran of the Vietnam war who has over fifteen awards & accolades to his name – three of them Purple Hearts, and both The Silver Star and The Bronze Star.
His disillusionment with students protesting Vietnam by burning a flag at a local college led to his joining the United States Marine Corps. His success not just at leading his men but in recovering from the tragic loss of both his left eye and left arm are nothing short of inspiring. He was a man told he would never walk again and yet is living proof that with the right attitude, all things are possible. The journey from South Carolina boy, to his dream job of a college coach, and then into the conflict of Vietnam is nothing compared to the courage, determination, and strength that followed during over 2 years and 30 major surgeries in military hospitals.
Lt. McClary is the author and contributor on many works, including but not limited to starring in Gospel Films Presentation, Clebe McClary: Portrait of an American Hero, and speaking on the audio cassette compilation, “THE CONSTANCY OF GOD IN A CHANGING WORLD”.
Circle Drive Baptist Church will be welcoming Lt. McClary to speak at their 10:15 am service on Sunday, October 12th.
Admission is free – please join us, no RSVP needed!
We look forward to seeing you all there!
